Installation
Flashing via webinterface
- Download the factory firmware image offered above to your Computer.
- Connect your Computer to a LAN port of the TP-link. If the configuration was not changed, the DHCP on the router will give you a 192.168.0.X address and the TP-link web administration page is 192.168.0.1. (User: admin, Password: admin) Under System Tools select Firmware Upgrade. Browse to the previously downloaded lede-17.01.5-ar71xx-generic-tl-mr3220-v1-squashfs-factory.bin file. Click Upgrade.
- If the Webinterface tells you You have no authority to access this router! that’s because your browser does not send the correct HTTP referer header. Disable addons or use a different browser.
- Connect to 192.168.1.1 with your web browser
- Set your password and configure the router through the web UI. Basic Config Congratulations! You just installed OpenWrt on your Router!
Flashing via TFTP
- Download the factory firmware image offered above to your Computer.
- Configure a computer with static IP /24 and a TFTP server. On Debian or Ubuntu you can use either the tftpd-hpa or tftpd server packages.
- Rename the downloaded firmware image to `` and place it
in the tftp server’s root directory. (If using tftpd-hpa this is
/var/lib/tftpboot/
; if tftpd, it is/srv/tftp/
) You can test that the file is downloadable withtftp localhost and get
. - Connect the computer to one of the router’s Ethernet ports while the router is off. Press and keep pressed the router’s reset button and power it up. After about 7-10 seconds release the reset button. The power LED will flicker rapidly for ~3 seconds, indicating download of the firmware file.
- The router will write the firmware to flash during ~40 more seconds of occasional power LED blinks, and then will reboot by itself, ready for use.
